2016年8月15-21日，第八屆世界兩棲爬行動物學大會（8th World Congress of Herpetology (WCH8)）在杭州召開。中國水產科學研究院長江水產研究所魚類病害研究室范玉頂副主任、馬杰副研究員參加了該會議，并分別做了主題為“Transcriptomic analysis of the host response to an iridovirus infection in Chinese giant salamander, Andrias davidianus”的墻報和“Identification of Type I IFN in Chinese giant salamander (Andrias davidianus) and the response to an iridovirus infection”的口頭報告，同時與參會的專家探討了大鯢病害問題。

　　本屆大會吸引來自世界各地的許多兩棲爬行動物學科學家和專業人士等參加。會議圍繞全世界范圍內以兩棲爬行動物為研究對象開展相關研究領域，諸如環境科學、仿生學、醫學、流行病學、生理學、生物化學、保護生物學、以及生物開發與利用等方面的問題進行了研討。
